reported that the new "Exhibition Centre 2012 Project" is now at the planning permission stage.
With this project, Hall 6 is going to be closed down, but, instead, new space is going to be made and indoor connections between all halls are made. This will also improve visitor convenience with shorter visitor paths.
This year, the number of exhibitor is 2,087 from 45 countries. Out of that, 458 are from Switzerland, i.e. 291 for watches, 43 for jewelry, and 124 for related industry. Swiss Exhibitors Committee reports about the Swiss Exhibitors as follows;
A flood of chronograph, countdown functions and multiple time zones. Women's watches are no longer confined to the category of fashion accessories, but have become genuine timepieces housing quality mechanical movements in the purest Swiss tradition. Date mechanism - annual or perpetual - have a discreet comeback. When it comes to dials, there are introduction of interlacing discs, multi-leveled counters and dancing retrograde hands, etc. Swiss manufacturers have been meticulous about the finishing on their dials.
Exhibitors committee has also announced the opening schedule for coming 5 years;
