The World Watch and Jewellery Show, BASELWORLD2009 opens from March 26 to April 2 and will show again, at the world's biggest and most important event for the watch and jewellery sector, new developments, creations and innovations in six exhibition halls in Basel, over a total surface area of 160,000 m2.
In the watch sector, experts sum up the trends for 2009 as follows: anything that is theoretically feasible from the design angle is being taken up and implemented by the watchmakers. On the masterpieces emerging from the manufacturers, materials and techniques alike are being mixed,merged, combined and varied - with creativity knowing virtually no bounds. And it is the big watches, in an especially wide variety of materials, that continue to predominate, offering a direct view of their frequently minimalist-design dials. The predominantly round cases, often featuring square components, are both flat and elegant.

2009 Catalog can be ordered online in book form or on CD-ROM, as of end March 2009. Before that, online catalog and floor plan will be available, but it 's not yet ready as December, 2008.
<Transport from airport>
The shuttle bus service to show venue is provided at EuroAirport Basel and Zurich airport. The shuttle bus from EuroAirport Basel to the Show is free of charges, the shuttle bus form Zurich airport costs CFH25.-. Time table will be available as of February 2009.
