Grand Bovet Salon in Takashimaya

Bovet Japan Co.Ltd. will organize the "Grand Bovet Salon" at Takashimaya Department Store (Tokyo.Nihonbashi) from December 20 until 25, and present everything about Swiss watchmaking by Bovet for public.

Bovet is a watch brand started in 1822 in the Jura mountain, Fleurier. The brand name is known as a watch brand in the art. Bovet celebrates the 185th anniversary this year. It schedules to start, from autumn 2008, finishing process at the Chateau de Motiers, purchased by Bovet in 2007. The Chateau will function also as the museum. Furthermore, Bovet is going to start the manufacturing operation at Dimier1738, where almost all the movements for Bovet watches will be produced from the end of 2008. Thus, Bovet joins the group of Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturers.

The "Grand Bovet Salon" in Takashimaya will present its history, dial art, case art together with the live presentation of miniature enamel painting by Mr.Martiness from Switzerland, and Kaga Makie by Mr.Tamura. At the salon, 25 pieces of antique pocket watches and current collection as well as new collection of Bovet, about 60 pieces in all, will be exhibited.
