Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry have held the Watchmakers course implemented the 3000-hour program of WOSTEP, Switzerland since April 1999. The 33 students of the first term of the course had the final examination in February. 25 students has passed and received the WOSTEP diploma.

Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry signed with WOSTEP in December 1998 as a WOSTEP partner school, and started the 3 Years Watchmakers Course implemented the 3000-hour training programme for watcmakers in April 1999. Students of the course have to have 5 times of interim examinations during the program. Only the students who have cleared all the 5 times examination can go up for the final examination, and the successes can be given the diploma by WOSTEP.

WOSTEP, Switzerland have 17 partner shcools in the world, where the same program, the same exanimation and the same standard are implemented.

The final examination at the Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry was conducted from February 5 for 3 days by Mr. Simonin, Director of WOSTEP, 2 watchmakers from Switzerland (Breitling and Parmigiani), and 2 watchmakers from Japanese importers (Rolex and Richemon). The examination was proceeded with the 4 subjects, i.e. watch theory, repair of quartz watch, repair of mechanical selfwinding, repair of mechanical chronograph, for total 16 hours.

The course started 3 years ago with 40 students. 33 students who achieved the full program and succeeded the all 5 interim examination came up the final examination and 25 students passed.

The 25 successes were handed over the diploma by Mr.Simonin at the ceremony held on February 22 at the school.
