JAQUET DROZ Masterpiece Museum to be Held in Tokyo

Jaquet Droz is a historical watchmaker in the 18 century. He had his first workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1738, and created beautiful pocket watches and clocks with highly skilled watchmaking technique. His creation was loved by kings and court in the world, such as Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, Napoleon I, Ferdinand VI , King of Spain, King George III, and also Emperor of Russia and China.

During the "Jaquet Droz Masterpiece Museum", held in Tokyo at Tobu Department Store in August, some historical masterpieces is exhibited for public.

 

Paradise in Golden Palm Tree

Automata created in 1758.
Leaves of the tree open automatically, and birds start to sing. The man by the tree plays a flute.

Created in 1790. Rubies and pearls are decorated around enamel miniature painting of a woman and a hawk. The movement has 5 different chimes.
