To commemorate the 400th year of the first Galileo's celestial observation, this year is "International Year of Astronomy 2009".
As one of events of "International Year of Astronomy 2009" in Japan, Machida City Museum organizes an exhibition of "Astronomical observation and Clocks". About 30 beautiful Japanese traditional clocks of the Edo era are exhibited.
The pamphlet of the exhibition is sold at the museum (100 yen for 1 copy). It helps understand the exhibition more deeply. The pamphlet is provided to primary and secondary students for free.
