Oumi Watch, Glasses and Jewelry School starts registration of new students for the next session

Oumi Watch, Glasses and Jewelry School in Shiga prefecture has trained young graduates to be watchmakers since 1976. The new session starts from April next year, and the registration started. The school has the 3 courses - "Watch, Glasses and Jewelry", "Watch and Jewelry", "Glasses and Jewelry". Each course accepts only 20 students. Three years of curriculum. Applicants are requested to submit the application and photo.

The watch subjects cover the followings;

Basic horology :
Basic electroogy :
Watch mechanism :

History, Astronomy, Mechanics
Electromagnetism, Mensuration, Electronic material
Mechanical, Electronic, Quartz, Disassembling and assembling, Timing, Escapement, Knowledge of merchandises, etc

Oumi Watch, Glasses and Jewelry School is affiliated with the Oumi Shrine, which is dedicated the Tenji Emperor who has started the Time system in Japan. In the precincts of Oumi Shrine, there is the Watch Museum where some 3,000 items related to watches from the world are exhibited.
