The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry(FH) Tokyo

The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH is a federation of Swiss watch manufacturers and related companies. The headquarters is in Bienne, Switzerland and the information centers are in Hong Kong and Tokyo. It is the result of the merger in 1982 of the Swiss Chamber of Watchmaking, set up in 1876 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and Federation of Swiss Watch Manufacturers (FH), created in 1924 in Bienne.

The FH is a private, and nonprofit organization. About 90% of all Swiss watchmaking companies and related companies are members of FH directly or indirectly.

"FH" is the abbreviation of the French name, Federation de l'industrie horlogere suisse. "Federation" means federation and "horlogere" means timepieces. The headquarters in Switzerland and 3 information centers in USA, Hong Kong and Tokyo are called in different names according to the languages of location, but the name FH is the common name to all.

The activities of FH involve legal, economic and commercial matters.

1	to contribute to the development of the Swiss watch industry
2	to establish a permanent link between its members to promote their joint interests
3	to represent the Swiss watch industry as a whole in dealing with the Swiss, foreign and international authorities and economic organizations
4	to protect the interests of its members in Switzerland and abroad in the drafting of national and foreign legislation, during international negotiations
5	to carry out tasks and assignments given to it by the industry and government
6	to defend its members' interests by means of legal proceedings

The activities of the Tokyo Center are the followings;

1	Survey on Japanese watch market
2	Information services on the Swiss watch industry and promotion of Swiss watches
3	After services of Swiss watches
4	Introduction of Swiss manufacturers to Japanese importers
5	Information giving to watch retailers and watch repairers
6	Assistance of members' activities in the Japanese market
