The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH is a federation of Swiss watch manufacturers and related companies. The headquarters is in Bienne, Switzerland and the information centers are in Hong Kong and Tokyo. It is the result of the merger in 1982 of the Swiss Chamber of Watchmaking, set up in 1876 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and Federation of Swiss Watch Manufacturers (FH), created in 1924 in Bienne. The FH is a private, and nonprofit organization. About 90% of all Swiss watchmaking companies and related companies are members of FH directly or indirectly. "FH" is the abbreviation of the French name, Federation de l'industrie horlogere suisse. "Federation" means federation and "horlogere" means timepieces. The headquarters in Switzerland and 3 information centers in USA, Hong Kong and Tokyo are called in different names according to the languages of location, but the name FH is the common name to all. The activities of FH involve legal, economic and commercial matters.
