FH Tokyo holds the first panel exhibition

The 150th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland

Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH Tokyo produced panel exhibition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland. It is the first time to release an original panel exhibition since FH Tokyo’s office established 50 years ago. The panel exhibition entitled “Minister plenipotentiary, Aimé Humbert - who built a foundation for Swiss watch market in Japan” will be unveiled between 20th and 25th August 2015, at Ikebukuro Tobu Department Store.

This panel exhibition will introduce the footprints of Swiss delegation to Japan- along with the historical background of Edo era when the treaty was concluded, and how the Swiss watch industry started its business in Japan. Also Wadokei (Japanese watches) and Swiss Watches in nearly 150 years ago will be introduced in the panels. The original book of “Le Japon illustré” published by Aimé Humbert will be on display.

This panel exhibition is planned to go round nationwide until 2016 to introduce at watch fairs and events.
