"Rolling Stones Automaton Only Watch 2023"
Jaquet Droe has participated since the first edition of Only Watch, a biennial charity auction in support of research into muscular dystrophy of the Jussianne type. 2023 will feature the Rolling Stones Automaton, a reproduction of the Rolling Stones' stage set with an automata mechanism. The Rolling Stones Automaton, an automata mechanism that recreates the Rolling Stones' stage set, with a colorful theme based on the colorful world of children at play. Each instrument is hand-engraved from a block of gold, and Mick Jagger's harmonica is reproduced to within a few tenths of a millimeter. The outer disc surrounding the stage begins to move at the push of a single button, taking approximately 30 seconds to complete one lap, with up to eight revolutions. The tongue of the Rolling Stones' symbolic "tongue and lips" mark moves up, down, left, and right, and the power reserve is indicated at the 9 o'clock position by a cam that replicates a record player's continuous arm and diamond record needle. When the outer circumference of the dial rotates, the brightly colored swirls create a visual effect similar to that of a child's playing pieces.
