The 7th FH Seminar held

On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the Federation of Swiss Watch Industry FH held its 7th seminar at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo.　　

This seminar has been organized annually since 2017 by the FH for watch brands, importers, and related associations engaged in the Swiss watch industry. The theme of the 7th seminar was "Toward the 160th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Switzerland in 2024 - "Imagine Switzerland" - connecting Japan and Switzerland through timepieces.　　

In the first half of the session, Ayako Nakano, Director of the FH Tokyo Center, introduced the achievements of Emme Humbert, President of the Swiss Watch Industry Association, who came to Japan to open diplomatic relations and cultivate new markets for the Swiss watch industry. She emphasized the importance of the watch industry in strengthening the ties between the two countries, and called on all those involved to take a closer look at the importance of the treaty as we approach the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland in 2024.　　

In the latter of the session, Mr. Jonas Pulver, Head of Culture and Public Affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, and Ms. Ayako Hirose, Culture and Public Affairs Officer, took the podium to announce that the Swiss Pavilion will be part of the Osaka-Kansai Expo to be held in 2025. Based on the concept of "Switzerland, the Land of Innovation," the pavilion is expected to make a significant contribution to a sustainable and circular economy, and is expected to attract attention as a future construction method. In addition, it was reported starting the communication program "Vitality.swiss - What's a prosperous future? The program will continue to be enriched with a variety of programs based on the three themes of "healthy living," "sustainability," and "innovation.　　

A cocktail reception had after the event. The event ended on a high note with a cocktail reception that brought together people who work in the watch industry but rarely have the opportunity to meet each other.
