The dragon, the Chinese zodiac sign for the year 2024, is the theme of this model, which combines a complex Chinese calendar with a Gregorian date and a moon phase. Blancpain launched this zodiac series, which combines Western and Eastern calendar indications through a complex mechanism, 12 years ago, and this year went into second time of zodiac cycle from this time. The green dial is made of Grand Feu enamel. The serpentine hand extending from the center displays the date in the Gregorian calendar. Information on the Chinese calendar is displayed on three in-dials: at 12 o'clock is the time of day divided into 12 divisions, and the zodiac is indicated by an illustration in a small window; at 3 o'clock is the display of the zodiac and geometry, and at 9 o'clock is the month and date. It has taken for five years to develop the moon phase displayed in a small window at 6 o’clock position. The movement is composed of 464 parts, and Blancpain's in-house movement with three barrels that run the calendar mechanism provides a power reserve of approximately seven days. This model is limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
