The 4th Certified Watch Coordinator

The 4th Certified Watch Coordinator test organized by Japan Watch Importers’ Association (JWIA) will take place on January 28th, 2015. The object of the Certified Watch Coordinator qualification is to develop sales people with the technical knowledge of watches who can give customers appropriate advices for watches’ purchase and after sales service. The application will be until November 28th, 2014.

(Written test)

Date: Wednesday, January 28th, 2015    13:00 - 15:00 (for two hours) 
Venue:   <Tokyo> Japan Education Center, Hitotsubashi hall / conference room 
  <Osaka> Tenma Training Center
Examination fee: 7,000 yen 
Application periods: Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 - Friday, November 28th, 2014 
For the exam:

The written test is conducted by the mark sheet system, and set
questions out of the CWC textbook.

After the examination, successful applicants will be informed by a mail, and announced on the CWC official website.

Upon passing the test, successful applicants must take a practical training for one day during the designated periods at Hiko Mizuno college of Jewelry in Tokyo or Osaka. The result of the practical training has nothing to do with passing the test or not.

Training fee: 18,000 yen
Training:

Overhaul of mechanical watch, the rate control, open and close of a watch case,
battery replacement、and adjustment of bracelet , etc.


Exemption from the practical training is possible under certain conditions as follows: 

  • Persons undergoing the mechanical watch technical training conducted by JWIA
  • Acquisition of more than  2nd grade certified skilled worker of clock and watch repairing recognized by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare
  • Graduates or persons attending watch schools 
  • Persons working currently as a watchmaker or a watch repairer


For registration of CWC members, the registration fee and the member fee are required respectively, 5,000 yen (valid in five years, and required the same amount for a renewal) and 15,000 yen (3,000 yen per year x 5 years).
