H. Moser Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kasumigaseki, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), the Japanese subsidiary of Swiss luxury watch brand H. Moser based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, was established and commenced operations on January 1, 2026. The company will also begin handling the new Swiss luxury brand “Hautlence.”
H. Moser established this Japanese subsidiary to enhance global brand recognition and capitalize on robust growth in the Japanese market. Going forward, the company will further strengthen efforts to elevate the brand's worldview and brand experience for Japanese customers.
Founded in 1828, H. Moser is a Manufacture renowned for its high technical expertise, producing movements entirely in-house—from the balance spring, the heart of the watch, to the balance wheel. With an annual production of only around 4,000 pieces, the brand has established an instantly recognizable, modern, and refined style. This is achieved through the fusion of an extremely minimalist design—even omitting the brand logo—and the traditional craftsmanship that has been alive within the brand since its founding. These timepieces, embodying “Very Rare” through their beauty and rarity worthy of being called works of art, are increasing their presence in the luxury watch industry.
Hautlence is an independent Swiss brand founded in 2004 that continues to pursue bold, unconventional approaches in watchmaking. The brand name is an anagram of “Neuchâtel,” the holy land of watchmaking, paying homage to its roots. Featuring distinctive multi-layered dials utilizing innovative time-display mechanisms, these timepieces have challenged conventional notions of how time is read. Contrasting with their avant-garde exterior design, they house intricate mechanical movements rooted in Swiss tradition. This fusion of eccentric design and sophisticated mechanical construction represents the brand's true essence.
Since 2012, Hautlence has been part of the MELB Holdings group, strengthening technical and managerial collaboration. In 2022, the brand underwent a complete renewal, marking a new chapter in its history. Today's Hautlence evolves its founding DNA of “architectural aesthetics” into a more contemporary and sporty style.
Symbolizing this philosophy is an uncompromising dedication to “rarity.” Every model is produced in a strictly limited edition of 28 pieces worldwide, with the brand's logo, the Möbius strip, engraved with the numbers “2” and “8.” Hautlence stands as a rare entity in the world of luxury watchmaking, persistently pursuing truly original “mechanical art.”
The collection available in Japan features the “Sphere,” displaying time via a sphere; the “Linear,” a retrograde jumping hour indicating hours along a straight line; the “Vagabond” with multiple rotating discs for time display, the playful and nostalgic flying tourbillon “Retrovision,” and the cylindrical tourbillon “HELIX” with retrograde hour and minute display. This collection, dedicated to unique, convention-defying time displays, is sold at the official domestic retailers ISHIDA Omotesando and oomiya Shinsaibashi.
