"TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer"
TAG Heuer has reinterpreted the heritage of its 1949 tide-measuring watch, the Seafarer, by seamlessly integrating it into the brand’s flagship Carrera collection in a contemporary new release. Rooted in the history of sailing, this chronograph has been reconstructed on the basis of a highly legible glassbox design.At its heart beats an in-house movement developed specifically to incorporate a tide indication mechanism. By operating the dedicated pusher at 9 o’clock to set the disc, the watch displays high and low tides in accordance with the lunar cycle of 29.53125 days.The dial, featuring a domed sapphire crystal and a curved flange, ensures excellent readability—even aboard a moving vessel—while the chronograph’s 60 seconds and 30 minutes counters are also highly legible. The 42 mm stainless steel case, finished with satin-brushed and polished surfaces, is paired with a champagne-gold opaline dial accented in “Intrepid Teal.” These tones harmonize with the 18K yellow gold-plated indexes, completing the refined nautical aesthetic.
