The Japan Cup in association with Longines

6th November 2014 – Longines together with the Japan Racing Association announced the new agreement regarding the Japan cup in association with Longines that sees the Swiss watch brand become the Official Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of this important event. In addition, Longines will have the pleasure to welcome in the event its Ambassador of Elegance Chi Ling Lin and to organize a Longines Prize for Elegance that will pay tribute to the Kimono. 

Inaugurated in 1981, the Japan Cup in association with Longines is a 2400 meters international Group 1 turf race for 3 years old and up horses. The race day is named after the most important race held this day. Longines is very proud to be involved in this equestrian event, that belongs to the most prestigious ones in the world. 

Longines has been partnering with equestrian sports for more than a century. Today, Longines’ involvement in the equestrian world includes Flat Racing, Show Jumping and Endurance competitions.

The famous Swiss watch brand is also the Official Partner and Official Watch of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), and gives its name to the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings and the Longines World’s Best Racehorse title as well as to the Longines World’s Best Jockey award.

The Japan Cup in association with Lingines will be the perfect occasion to discover the Conquest Classic collection, a line dedicated to the brand’s passion for equestrian sports. The Official Watch of the event will be a chronograph in steel and gold from this collection. It has a black dial and is fitted with an exclusive column-wheel caliber. The movement of this model can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.
